Aural History
About
Ghosts, drugs, and Rock ‘n’ Roll. The year is 1997. Chris Mahon is a twenty-something bass player in a series of failed and failing bands, waiting for the big break that seems further out of reach with every passing day closer to the millennium. When Chris’s biological father Bob re-enters his life after a twenty-five-year absence, Chris’s comfortable but unfulfilling life with his hippie mom Fay is turned upside down...and the ghosts begin to visit. Janis, Kurt, Brian, Freddie, Sid, Johnny...a spectral pantheon of Rock’s greatest icons appear. All but one, the one Chris believes sonically replaced Bob’s DNA when pregnant Fay danced before the main stage during the final performance at Woodstock. Will the Voodoo Child appear to guide Chris through life’s constant revolutions, or is Chris destined to feel like he’s living at the bottom of a grave? Hang on, my darlin’!
